Safari vs. Google Chrome?

I'm sure everyone encountered the error "A website cannot be reached" while browsing at least once in their life. Before exploring the user experience design world, I might overlook the design of everyday things even though I grappled with a user experience hall of shame.

The following photos show two popular browsers' design for an error message "A page that cannot be reached." What are the differences?

Safari

Safari

Google Chrome

Google Chrome

You are right!

Safari

  • Safari cannot find the server. Is it Safari's issue, or is it the URL?

Google Chrome

  • The site cannot be reached.

  • Empathize by showing a sad face.

  • The reload action button saves my time to scroll up for refreshing the page.

  • On top of everything, offering me a solution, "Check if there is a typo in URL," encouraged me to search the subdirectory in google and find it; yeah found it :D

What matters is why this error occurred and how this can be resolved.

Safari violated one of the primary heuristic evaluation by Jakob Nielsen. The violated heuristic evaluation is "Help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors. Thank you, Google chrome, for helping me to recover from this heartbreaking error :D. You gave me a solution, empathized with me and provided me with a visual treatment.
